“The Biggest LIE The GURUS Have Fed You For Years!”

If you have been on the internet for any length of time and you have been struggling to actually make a decent living from home, then you have come to realize one very important fact. That fact is, if you are going to build a successful money making business from home you first have to accept the fact that a home business has to treated like a real business and not a hobby. It’s not a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. You don’t just put up a website and “poof” you make millions of dollars overnight and become an instant success. That is what is called “the lottery mentality.”

Starting a business (especially online) takes hard work, dedication and allot of effort. It just doesn’t happen overnight like allot of the GURUS would have you believe. Now that you know the “real truth” about the basics on how to begin a home based business let me clue you in on one of the biggest Lies on the internet.

The single most critical factor in having your own successful online business is getting people to buy what you sell. That could be your own product or someone else’s product that you make a commission off of as an affiliate. The easiest way to get people to buy is to sell to people that have bought from you already. Chances are, if they have bought from you before, they are more likely to trust you and buy from you again. It is a well known fact that repeat customers are much easier to sell to than new customers.

For years, ever since the inception of the internet, the thought of actually escaping global poverty by working from home and not for a boss has been around. There has been a statement that millions of budding entrepreneurs have been fed and believed. We all have been duped into this one single, solitary line that has made us feel that because it is coming from some “expert” in internet marketing that is must be true. Well it’s time to set the record straight.

When someone enters the world of internet marketing, usually one of the very first things they’re told is…“The Money is in The List.” We are told that the only way to have a successful online business and build a massive income from home is to build a huge “list” of people and then on a fairly regular basis, market to that list. I mean, it makes perfect sense doesn’t it? Isn’t that the way all the “experts” and “Gurus” make millions of dollars with one simple “click of the mouse”? Well, believe it or not, this is actually the biggest LIE the GURUS have been feeding people for years. Let me explain.

The concept of list building is actually true. It’s the way that this statement is presented that is false. Actually, it is the kind of list that you build is much more important and this is the one important key to success that many GURUS leave out. This one element is what has left people frustrated for years. The way most people perceive this is that we are supposed to build a huge list of just anybody that will “opt in” to what we are offering. We are supposed to build a list of “subscribers”. That is where the deception lurks.

The MONEY is NOT in the list of subscribers but in the list of BUYERS. Buyers count…subscribers DON’T, it’s that simple. A subscriber means nothing until they buy something. So why do the GURUS leave out this one crucial fact… that you need to be developing a list of hungry, targeted, responsive list of BUYERS and not just subscribers? It’s simple really. Leaving out that one critical factor helps them to dupe or deceive people into buying allot of useless, overpriced, outdated list building products that make the GURU a ton of money and leave YOU, the consumer, holding the bag with a product that has little or no value.

People are mislead everyday into believing that you should go for Quantity instead of Quality. That you should just build a list of “anybody and everybody” that will be willing to just “sign up”. What you are actually doing is building a deadbeat list of freeloaders that usually opt into your list to get something for free and NEVER have any intention of BUYING ANYTHING from you. As a result, people waist years and years building a list and then cant understand why they never make enough money online to quit their “day job”.

A “newbie” marketer with a list of 2500 responsive buyers can absolutely CRUSH a more experienced marketer with a list of 100,000 subscribers. Why? Because if you have a list of only subscribers that do nothing more than “subscribe to your list” yet never BUY anything, all you really have is a list that is dead weight. Who wants to carry around dead weight.

Another HUGE mistake that new marketers (and some experienced ones) make is that they e-mail the living daylights out of their list. They send two, three or even four e-mail to their list every week trying to sell them anything and everything that comes along. This is called “BURNING YOUR LIST”. What you are actually doing is burning money and here’s why.

After a while, people on your list will stop paying attention to your e-mails. They will get sick of you always trying to pitch and convince them that they need the “latest and greatest thing” you are peddling and this will kill your credibility with them as someone that cares about their success and leans more over to someone that only cares about themselves and the almighty dollar. It will drop the overall value and profitability of your product or service (as well as your list) to zero.
