Do you think the Nets will return to trading table before the deadline?
I think their owner was smart he pulled back knowing that there is no other team that can offer half of what the Nets offered.
I think if the Nets were smart they would trade for Carmelo but not give up everything in case he did not return.
I think Favors, Troy Murphy expiring deal, and 3 first round picks (Nets pick for this year, Rockets pick for next year, Nets 2013 pick) is a better package than the Knicks offer of just Gallanari, Eddy Curry, and Anthony Randolph.
If Houston does not make it to the playoffs I think the Nets could be wise and send that lottery pick along with Vujacic and try to bring OJ Mayo or Shane Battier there.
The two advantages Nets would have over Knicks if Melo is traded there is
1. They can give him a 3 year 65 mil extension (Knicks won’t be able to offer that to him if he has to sign with them in the offseason)
2. They will be playing for his home town.
They have a chance if Knicks mess up.
