Having a kind of Christmas

The temperature was 84 ⁰ in Miami this winter. But somehow the family to Hyde, this Christmas was definitely going to be a little colder than the last. Jeff Hyde was an expert in the sale of new cars. An employee of the year for a record five years in one of the biggest dealers Chrysler is not easy, but somehow Jeff Hyde had pulled him out. Back home, his wife Nancy was waiting for her two children left at the station bus. Fortunately, the work of Nancy in the Miami School District has allowed him to see children safely inside and outside the bus station every day. The family of four was just fine.

Nancy hit that Christmas was only six weeks, half of his monthly manicure / pedicure with her best friend Donna. Nancy and Donna joked that if you do not start soon, would be trying to find gifts for the family at midnight on Christmas Eve. For Nancy was half of a joke, as she proud of her uncanny ability to find the perfect gift for every family member. I did not know that this time she really would be able to choose a winner.

Thanksgiving came and went as it always has done year after year. Everyone Hyde extended family ate their fair share of turkey and potatoes and slept peacefully while watching football in the living room. The matriarchs of the family were cutting coupons and planning for the future nationally known commercial fiasco as Black Friday. " Nancy and Donna had planned the first trip to the nail salon and everyone had decided to bring their families along the commercial area marathon that took place from sunrise to sunset. After all was said and done, Nancy had another great day of shopping to his credit. To his two children, she was package capable of paying the latest video game with her husband much needed bonus. Not to mention the new dress she got on sale 50% discount. For her husband, added to his collection of model cars that were modeled from real life coaches who sells every day. Ultimately it was a good day. He returned home and gave chocolate, turkey and potatoes (in that order). She never thought that the remains could taste so good.

The average early December went as usual at this time of year. Nancy and the children start the winter in a week and already running off the wall to think about it. Presents are beginning to be wrapped and placed under the Christmas tree and decorated. Life is good for the Hyde family. The night of December 17 was playing out like everyone else December 17ths in the past – the family finishes dinner and settled down in the living room around the Christmas tree and sit in front of the light of the favorite viewing Christmas. At the point where at least the family is asleep is when you get home Nancy everybody gone to bed. Children slept peacefully and the right as Nancy thought it was drifting Jeff sit straight up, turned the lamp, and a look that Nancy has only seen once or twice since being with Jeff.

The dealership where Jeff worked was to close the doors after 40 years of selling American made cars and trucks. He discovered that the night he was to close. That was not the worst of all good, there was no money to provide any severance pay to any worker. Nancy and Jeff had done for the past 15 years they were together with the income of both of their jobs. But now the two of them lay in bed trying to sleep after briefly talking about where they would play in next couple of weeks, Nancy knew that her teacher's salary was not going to be pretty.

The family dinner that Christmas Eve was not as happy as the previous ones, but no really complained. But the silence was so thick you could cut with a knife, Jeff apologized to his room earlier than usual. Nancy followed but the door was locked. He washed the dishes and put the food. Now it was time to drive his grandfather's house, stopped at the bedroom door to see how Jeff was doing. Nancy noticed the red eyes that Jeff had been crying. Something that has never seen Jeff do Nancy. Nancy failed to take her grandfather's house, and on the way home he stopped at the gas station to get enough gas to get home. By going to pay, Jeff Nancy decided to get a few lottery tickets as stocking-stuffers. Something that Jeff had stopped buying because the Chrysler had closed down. Nancy was happy to see that when she came home from Jeff succeeded in getting children and settled into bed. The two went peacefully asleep for some much needed sleep.

Even with the loss of employment, Christmas went off without a hitch. The kids were glued to the television playing in his new video game system. And Jeff was happy with his fudge. Nancy was happy with herself in her gift of choice this year. There is a large, but not that bad. As Nancy was preparing to start lunch the boys said they had not yet opened their means. One by one the half-emptied.

The story ends here. Jeff did not need to scratch three 7 whether he had won. Deep in his heart, Jeff knew success is not monetary, especially around Christmas. To have a sort of Christmas, all you need is love.
