My Name Is Earl (DVD) Review

One of the best new shows of recent years, My Name Is Earl follows the life of Earl Hickey (Jason Lee), a man who discovers karma while lying in a hospital bed. Celebrating a $ 100,000 lottery ticket scratch, Earl is hit by a car and he lost knowledge. His lottery ticket escapes in the wind, and Earl is hurried to the hospital where a revelation of Carson Daly hits him like a ton of bricks. Convinced that his bad luck is the result of bad karma, Earl compiles a list of everything you have done wrong from grade school until the present, and is committed to fixing all bullet points on your list … Nominated for two Golden Globes in its first season, My Name Is Earl won the People's Choice Award for Favorite New Television Comedy. Created by Gregory Thomas Garcia, creator of the popular Yes, dear, the series is sure to be a favorite in the coming years with its eccentric characters, writing bright, and the infinite possibilities episode (no doubt the list will grow as Earl tackles everything in it) …

Joining Earl on his quest are his tenuous but innocent brother Randy (Ethan Suplee), friend and illegal alien hotel maid Catalina (Nadine Velazquez), the Earl's trailer trash ex-wife Joy (Jaime Pressly) and Joy's new husband Darnell "Crabman" Turner (Eddie Staples). Also along the walk is $ 100,000 in lottery winnings. Although Earl lost lottery ticket when he was struck by the car, his newfound dedication to the principles of karma pays immediate dividends when a gust of wind puts missing ticket right in front of his feet. With the money they have, Earl and Randy are dedicated full time to the task of crossing things off a list of Earl's Court. This search makes for some interesting and comedic moments in television history …

My Name Is Earl The DVD includes hilarious twenty-four episodes including the season premiere in which Earl aims to help a former classmate from grade school he used to pick the rest, Kenny James (Gregg Binkley). To the learn that Kenny is gay and lonely, Kenny Earl works overtime to find a partner … Other notable episodes of the season include "stole beer from a golfer" in which Earl and Randy must pay a golfer (Johnny Galecki) who cheated out of free beer (a difficult task once they realize their actions have ruined his life) and the season finale, "Number One", in which Earl is proposed to rectify the number one thing on his list: "stole ten dollars to a guy in the store of convenience. But # 1 becomes the most difficult point in the list of Earl's when he realizes the man who stole ten dollars since I have used to buy the $ 100,000 lottery ticket.
