Dreaming about my parents home?

I lived 18 years of my life in my parents home. Then I got married. When my parents retired and moved to a condo, I wanted to buy their home from them. My mother sold the house to someone else. Years later I approached the new owner of the house, asked them if they would sell it to me. They said yes, for 3 times what it was worth! Many years later, after my parents died, I drove by my parents house. It was a burned-out shell. Then it was torn down. The a apartment building/condo was built on the land. I had a dream that I won a lot of money in the lottery, bought the apartment building, torn it down, and rebuilt, then finally moved into, my parents house. Not the same house; a replica, but similar as possible. My wife says I am having problems with “closure”. What do you think?

I think that the house you grow up in is a very special place; however, your memories of the house are probably better than the reality would be if you owned it. If I were you, I’d build my own dream house with my family so that my family and I could build our new dream. In other words, move on.
