Are people wildest and downtown or stopped buying more lottery tickets?

I heard a radio show where the host noted that black people buy the most lottery tickets instead of investing in a retirement plan. . How I can convince my relatives to invest in retirement instead of spending an insane amount of money on lottery tickets. Credit card bills are not paid, yet, buy lottery tickets. Why is this?

Sorry, I can not find the source, but I read a study that is mostly middle class people who buy lottery tickets. The lowest rates of purchase was the highest and lowest income groups. This makes sense, the rich do not need and the poor can not afford. But it is not propaganda by the anti-gambling lobby that gambling is a problem for poor people. As for convincing their family. I'm assuming that you have invested your money wisely own replacement. Why not show the return on their own have made investments. The results are usually a better way to convince people of an argument.
