Health, Wealth, and the Christian teaching: Why the world does not care
As a Christian, I have heard a lot about money, prosperity and health. I sorrow for the poor and sick, but are also concerned about the health of the modern church. I had assumed that some common Christian terms returned the counts of the main Google Adwords. I was wrong. Two of the most used concepts taught Christian (prosperity and faith healing) carry little value in the global scheme of importance. Health, wealth and wealth ranking in search engine, but have a poor performance when applied in the terms used in modern Christianity.
This seems a paradox, yet the answer is pretty clear: although the secular world is very interested in health and money are not likely to accept the falsification that has invaded Christianity. This is not because they do not believe in get rich quick or magical healing potions. The market is flooded with both maneuvers. state lotteries and other forms of sanctioned gambling herds attract people. Energy and performance drugs saturate all market sectors health. The harder and become leaner times, and people grow up to be lazier, more income for these dreams to promote income money.
Apart from the promises of instant cures and prosperity, two words that dominate the Christian teachings are: 1) "God wants you ", and 2)" It is the will of God. "Neither of these axioms has all the power of Google Adwords. We come to the point of this letter.
The secular world does not care at all for our Christian message call. Two of the most valuable and important phrases in Christianity has been perverted to have any value anyone outside the church environment. Why? Look how they are being used.
God wants you to:
It God's will that:
- Prosper.
- Be rich.
- It has a perfect health.
- Never suffer.
- Make the world envy of their wealth.
- Drive new cars.
- Living in new homes.
- Has abundance so you can lavish their excess others.
"I could take this list and add to it Christian promises many more modern days. No wonder the world as a whole has lost interest in our message, if we still have a message? Not that these promises are all false, but not carried out routinely as a compliment. We changed the order of the Christian message too often left empty-handed. They come to the assemblies of the church, receives stupid, see it for what it is, grow disgusted with the lack of power, and then leave, taking less than what they had to enter. The secular world sees and knows the truth behind this.
When the Gospel message has become little more than another plot to get money quickly, or a source of healing magic do not expect the world to know the lack of power. Using the same language with which he speaks of Christian prosperity, Christians, calling, curses his coworker. The Using the same eyes that read Scripture as if it were a name-that-say-you book charm, a Christian, called, wants a woman from her neighbor. Using the same mouth that sings praise and worship on Sunday morning, Christians are called, is a glutton at the table later.
If we tell the world that God wants flourish while stealing time to witness our employer instead of the pause, the world call us liars. When we tell the world that God wants us to be healthy while you relax on the couch at home instead of visiting the sick, the world sees us as frauds. If we say miracle cures, keeping their medicine cabinets of the world calls us ignorant. Maybe if preachers who speak of sin, and to make changes in lifestyles and living what they preach the world begin to be interested in what God wants and what God wants. Because power is not in the wisdom of men, is the changed nature of the resurrected Christ. When we pursue world affairs, we are denied even the power to change.
With this message I have written harshly. Perhaps it is time for conviction rather than promises. "Ask and you shall receive" does not mean that they behave as the children of Cain. In this is a different concept, not based on a secular objectives: that men began to look for the things of God rather than the issues themselves.
God wants you to:
What is the will of God that you:
Romans 12:2
"And be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, pleasing and perfect will of God. "
Isaiah 58:7 (KJV)
"Is not your bread with the hungry, and that bring to the poor who are expelled into your home? when thou seest the naked, cover him, and that thou hide not yourself your own flesh? "
Lucas 16:13 (KJV)
"No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to the one and despise other. You can not serve God and mammon. "
