The daily lottery numbers, 000 to 999 are 1 chance in 1000 for each draw. If I pick a number and start playing

it, let’s say 123, how many draws must pass before I can expect that the number 123 will be drawn. In other words, at what point or number of draws will it be a 50/50 chance where 123 will be drawn.

For every individual draw, the chance is 1/1000 each time. But you can calculate for what number of draws a 123 is 50% likely to show up. And I don’t remember how do do that.
