can this be a prank?

i just got a letter from atlantic lottery corporation saying that i won a big amount of money and to call as soon as possible??? i still cant believe is there any chance this might be a prank or something??? it has the logo on it so i dont know what to think my husband keeps telling me that thats a lie but they even sent a check with money not all of it thou what do i do???

I got 2 letters from the same place. Both times I got a check enclosed which looked 100% real. If you take it to your bank this is what WILL happen: they will cash it. You will get this money. You will be instructed to mail a portion of this money to someone to get your winnings. You will be so happy for a week or two. Maybe go out and buy somethings with your new found money. OK, here is the best part. You soon get a letter in the mail from your bank that you cashed the check out telling you that the check was bogus, and you now must pay back the bank for the amount of the check you received, plus lucky you get to also pay the bank fees for this. Oh, did you remember that the real money that you mailed out to get your free money is gone to a scam artist forever. You will be out a lotta cash. But if this is what you want go and cash the check. Have fun!! Be warned!!
