Can I immigrate to USA by car?
My husband won a green card in lottery. we are in canada now as a permanent resident(from Iran). we went to interview and we are accepted and received visa, now we need to go there before 30 Sept of this year to apply for green card and social security card.
1-Can I go by car to USA rather than plane for this purpose?
Usually, when people go by plane, automatically in airport they give their documents and after three weeks they receive green card just they need to apply for social security card, I found a place to apply for social security card but I do not know where should I go to apply for green card if I go by car?
I am sure it is not done by land port when we get to USA.
2-where should I apply for green card if I go by car?
Yes, you can. Remember they said “port of entry”, does not necessary mean in Airport. You can call USCIS just to make sure.
