What really makes us happy?
If I make this question to ten people, most likely you would receive ten different answers. Which shows that there is no single recipe for happiness.
For some individuals happiness is winning the lottery to end all lotteries. To enable them live a life of luxury and wealth. Then time to move to bigger and better things, like living in the mansion somewhere in Beverly Hills. This way you can rub shoulders with neighbors of his celebrity, and golfing weekend. As if this were not enough, go ahead and develop their own reality TV, starring nothing themselves unless, of course.
But oddly enough to some other people, those who live and die by the words: Money can not buy happiness. The happiness of them could be as simple as looking at "a host of golden daffodils", to quote a famous phrase from a poem by William Wordsworth.
So what really is happiness? And how do you get it? Do some people have a genetic predisposition to happiness? Is there such thing as a happy gene?
Is there a scientific explanation to this giant smile breaking on his face every time you go to high school crush walking down the aisle on their way a geometry class?
It has been know that endorphins (a hormone that is responsible for making us kind of happy) induces a certain sense of euphoria. This is the happy buzz that you get when you eat tons and tons of chocolate. Ask any chocoholic who has landed himself in his rehabilitation, and they attest that this happens.
Endorphins are also released when exercising. Consider is the chemical responsible for the phenomenon called: high corridor.
high corridor is the feeling of euphoria that runners get when they have been aggressively running after a period of time. Because of this ongoing effort of their bodies to release endorphins.
Endorphins have also been known to elevate our mood. But is this feeling really small joy may be enough to be called happiness? Well, let seeÖ.
If we examine the meaning of this word according to dictionary, we find that the official declaration of Mr. Webster claims that happiness means the state of satisfaction and wellbeing.
For most us, a very basic level this would result in the achievement of our basic needs, including access to water, food and shelter. Because without these needs in a person would be very difficult to manage their daily lives. Any dreams, ambitions and desires of the heart of this person may have had to take a seat Back to the demands of the achievement of these provisions.
Any idea of winning out of state to a person who is confined to this faith would only a distant dream? Could it be the happiness of these people are also over these issues?
Which brings us to the Zen tradition, suggesting that without the attachment to the material world take to the road of happiness. It follows that an individual who is not lack too much of your concern matters of everyday life will eventually achieve a state of equilibrium.
This kind of mentality that some consider to be the key to happiness. Although for some this advice would be impossible to follow, especially those who have spent their entire life in pursuit of wealth, fame and glory.
But some others the road to happiness is quite simple. hint: It's a four letter word that starts with an L.
Yes, it's that little word that is famous throughout the world: loveÖloveÖlove. For some very lucky just to spend time with loved ones is enough to make you the happiest people on earth!
And why not?
Since the beginning of time the great wars have been fought in the name of love. Whether it's love for a woman, a country, or the idea of freedom.
There is no doubt that the acquisition of love is also related to the dream of happiness, if a person is aware of it or no.
So maybe in the end, we can not really explain what makes each and every one of us happy. Given that each person is unique in its own way. It is also clear that the way we perceive happiness is also influenced by this feeling of uniqueness. Therefore be different from one another.
In the end, the theory says there is a secret concoction of happiness. All we create our own recipe for happiness. Perhaps it is in this journey to find what is making us happy to discover that far and we have what you're looking for. It was right there in front of our faces, only we were not looking.
To those who have discovered this secret, I congratulate you. For the rest of those who are still looking Bon Voyage and Happy Trails!
