This Emerson console has seen better days, and we're not sure if we are going to do any more work with it.

It was given to us as junk in the mid 1990's. The phono was missing, radio full of abandoned mice nests and the dial glass was broken.

The radio chassis was completely cleaned and refurbished. It functions very well and remains in a box.
The finish on the cabinet wood was terrible and as we began stripping the old finish off, it was revealed that the original wood grain was only painted over a cheaper type wood. The technique was used on cheaper radios to cut costs associated with using finer woods.

The cabinet remains partially stripped, and the veneer is cracked/split on the lower part of the front large curved surfaces.

This is not a high priority restore project.
