1885-1905 Brass lock

Brass lock

This lock was acquired in 2003.
The simple mechanism is fully functional and has one key.

Condition:
The lock remains in original condition, which includes minor tarnish blemishes. (Seen in photo)
History:
The lock goes back a few family generations.
Web research suggests the date of MFG, and was usually applied for light duty such as locking a drawer. It was likely made in China.

Operation:
Lock animation
Insert the key and the inside
mechanism slides out becoming two pieces,
opening the lock.
